*** Stop Press *** Garage Roofing Sheets ***Stop Press***

Morning,

After being unindated with calls for garage roofs, we have developed a pack to suit a garage roof maximum of 6 metres in length, and each apex 2.440 metres on the slope.

The pack includes sheets, box profiles 0.5mm painted polyester finish, which are prime material not seconds, bargeboard flashings, ridge flashings,  foam fillers for the eaves & ridges, timber fixings & stitching screws, the colour caps to cover the stitchers & timber fixings and just to make sure you can use the self drilling fixings we are also including a socket all you need is the man (or woman) power!

Re Roof your Garage for as little as £395 + VAT including Delivery (but currently only available in certain areas of the UK, whilst we work on further haulage options we don't like to discrimate against those living in far nicer parts of the UK than I do, and in fact I am personally strongly opposed to it, but sadly we do struggle to get delivery to the further flung parts of the British Isles at a reasonable cost, and time frame)

These packs are extremely limited ....Colour options Goosewing Grey, Slate Blue, Vandyke Brown, or Juniper Green

Call us for more detials, or buy on line at www.roofing-store.co.uk and click on the Roofing Sheets category.

Be safe, remember remember the 5th of November

As the rhyme goes, but in Grantham it's more like remember remember the 3rd November as the big organised bonfire displays seen to be happening tonight,

Anyway be safe, I still remember a friend from school Kerry Pert (?) was at the fire station organised display & her parents bought her hot soup well it's was v v v hot soup, so hot that she ended up in hospital with burns to her hands from it, I also remember the fire station organising another display years later, well they do one every year the ones where Kerry was burnt happened at the fire station in the yard at the rear, it wasn't a big display, then in later years it moved to several fields behind my parents house, so I got a free display every year one year the fire station got some high powered explosive fireworks which set fire to my friend Michelle's coat, and the ash burnt the paint of my dads Montego- some might say it was an improvement but he wasn't impressed!!!

Olive Green Flashings

Yes these are slightly unusual, 610cm total girth so quite big to handle, and a tricky little fold on one side, with beautiful welted safety edges, or as Dennis the Dog Groomer would say Flanges

So Olive Green, 0.7mm Plastisol 6100mm girth flashings:

Bored

Ok so am bored check out the white liner panels on the roof:)

It never ceases to amaze me

How some scaffolding (or an excellent imitation) carefully covered in padded multi coloured plastic wrap, secured with cable ties & a bit of netting can give little people so much fun, add some planks of hard board, foam pads, Perspex domes, mini bouncy castle & you have fuzzy eds play zone capacity 63 yes 63 children!! Well there are no prizes for guessing where I have spent my Sunday morning ..... Back on the flashings tomorrow

Slate Blue Flashings

It just feels wrong to have the colour on the inside whilst bending these up, but take a look and see what you think

iPhone 5,#gravityfields,#grantham, #gravity

Bare or even bear with me, I am in the process of upgrading from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5 clearly I am organised enough to of not written down my passwords and hence been unable to log in!!

During this time the streets of Grantham where filled with festival goers, not your average type if festival food, music, dance etc no a science festival..... Well Sir Isaac Newton was born about 8 miles out of Grantham, at Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth, (NT property now) & I believe it was the 100 year anniversary so here are a few pics of the final night - enjoy x

Olympics !

On Friday I went to my first ever football match, it was an Olympic match - Ladies Brazil v Japan.

The stadium is amazing, www.millenniumstadium.com, the drinks expensive! and the football well strangely enjoyable !

As you can see from the blury flags we got seats in what appeared to be the Japanese supporters corner,  2 goals equalled a lot of noise!!

It was raining so the roof was closed, which I think you can just about make out from the pic!

So no roofing talk today, just Olympics .....

The Sun is out!

For the second day running the sun is out, and shining, blue skies not a cloud in the sky. Completely different to this time last week when we where loading these box profile curves on to a customers vehicle, moorland green plastisol curves.

Press Braked Sheets & Anti Condensation Backed Roofing Sheets

Press Braked Box Profile Sheets in Ocean Blue 0.7mm Plastisol

We can also add an anti condensation fleecy liner to the reverse of the box profile sheets,

Adding the anti condensation liner to the reverse of the sheets can be a lighter weight alternative when compared to Fibre Cement roofing sheets, condensation occurs when the external temeperature of the building changes compared to the internal temperature, the fleecy lining works by absorping this excess moisture, and so long as the building is well ventilated will dry out naturally, thus providing protection to the contents stored within the building without going to the expense of an insulated (composite) roof.

It costs less than you may think!

The sun is shining!

Well the roofing-store has been busy busy busy today, we can hardly keep up with the orders coming in, and I still need to update some pictures on some of the products but between you & I its a thankless job!

Anyway, we have some lovely press braked sheets in today, these are for a local unit which had some paint spraying inside, and when the tenants moved out the hole in the wall they left behind needed filling in! Pics to follow tomorrow, when I upload them .....
Actually talking about holes in the wall reminds me of a pub in Stamford, definately worth a visit!

The cookies!

See they look amazing on the packaging ...

and don't look too bad but are hard as a rock to eat :(

Off back to bending my flashings ......more pics later

Food Safe Flashings

Double welts on the food safe flashings absolute killer to fold! anyway they are done ready for collection, its interesting though that the food safe material is completely different to the white liner, painted & plastic leather grain coating effect we normally bend up for industrial buildings, garden sheds, stable roofing etc. Now whilst bending the food safe flashings up I was getting sugar cravings, and becoming rather hungry so when we finished I rushed in the office to open up a packet of cookies (maryland big & chunky) jubilee red, white & blue.  I have been saving because they looked so good ....anyway my verdict is that they weren't worth the wait, they are rock hard cookies that actually are verging on breaking my teeth biting in to them, which is disappointing as I have been looking forward to eating them for weeks now as they have stared at me from the cupboard saying eat me eat me eat me ......I wish I hadn't eaten them now :(

So enough of my biscuit review for the day, the www.roofing-store.co.uk will have flashings available to order on line very shortly, but if you need anything complex its best to call first! If you are local, and we have the material in stock it is possible to do them same day, we also offer a local delivery service & next day for the majority of the UK.

Rain rain go away....

The sky is rather overcast today, and the Olympic torch is being walked / jogged / run through the small market town of Grantham, Lincolnshire this afternoon, one can only hope that if the heavens open one of the many "bodyguards" is carrying a box of matches to relight it en-route :)

Of course all this glitz & drama on the surface is in aid of the Olympic flame being taken around the country, the high street is virtually unrecognisable with the Olympic flags, banners, marquees on the lawn & the Guildhall all lit up, schools finish early, roads are closed such an effort to carry a flame yet nothing was done for the Queens Jubilee ...one can't help but wonder why love her or hate her, 60 years in one job is an achievement.
I also question how did the Olympic torch party manage to get the roads closed, the police presence required for a one off event (which lets face it is most probably a health & safety officers nightmare!) when the Grantham Carnival which has been going through Grantham on the same route since I was little couldn't manage to get the roads closed owing to lack of police availability, and lack of appropriate notice and what ever else excuse wise the powers that be can throw up (even though the event happens same weekend, following the same route every year for as long as I can remember)

Well I for one won't be watching the event, I have deliveries to get out, invoices to raise, and year end accounts to work on such an exciting life we lead, but watch out for a new video on YouTube coming soon, the Guillotine in action :)

And if you are local, our trade counter is still open this afternoon as normal

Nappies & Car Bumpers

What do these products have in common?

Well for nappies their are 2 camps, Terry towelling nappies or disposable .....one semi environmentally friendly the other not so, I say semi because whilst the Terry nappies are washable they use detergents, lots of water, electricity in a washing machine, & tumble dryer well thats always been my justification for buying disposables! As for car bumpers well lots of those get dinged, bashed and written off to the scrap yard to rot.

So, my babies are out of nappies so I am no longer polluting the environment with their bottom waste which I feel happier about, and yes my car bumper has a few dings but its perfect for me. So I feel even happier to announce a new product we have been looking at, I am still working on the pricing but these Tile Effect Roofing Sheets designed for garden sheds, garages, gazebos, summer houses they are truely awesome as they are recycled.
Recycled from what you may ask, well Nappies & Car Bumpers!
These are lightweight, fast & easy to install, non corosive, fully weather resistant and guaranteed for 25, yes 25 years!
watch out for them appearing on www.roofing-store.co.uk shortly

PS Fifty shades is out of stock on Amazon too! Radio 2 had a lunch time debate about Bondage - the world is going 50 shades mad :)

Tuesday 26 June 2012

50 Shades of Grey ...

So if someone asked me for grey I would respond with Merlin grey 0.5mm or 0.7mm Box Profile Roofing or Cladding Sheets, Goosewing grey 0.5mm or 0.7mm Box Profile Roofing or Cladding Sheets, perhaps natural grey fibre cement in Big Six.

I have now learnt its none of the above but some surprise hit on the book stands the world (well ok the UK) has gone bonkers for, more so than J K Rowlings Harry Potter I am reading on the news sites

So, if you are looking for a copy Diane (www.roofing-screws.co.uk) informs us that Waterstones in Merryhill are sold out, Asda in the same area had a queue for the same book, and Asda in Grantham only had copies of books 2 & 3 available so the answer is if you are desperate for a copy of this "life changing" or "utter rubbish" depending on which Amazon review you read about the series of books get a Kindle or Kobo and download an electronic copy :)

As a footnote, I would like to add I am resisting buying / downloading a copy but am not sure how long I can hold out ...the hype is building :)

Wednesday 20 June 2012

Copter!

Flying over the unit today we had a helicopter, the noise is astounding I did a picture as it went around the back of the unit with my phone camera !

Sunday 3 June 2012

Bank Holiday weekend madness .....

I can confirm we are closed today, we are open most of the time, and www.roofing-store.co.uk is open 24/7 365 (or 366 if a leap year) day of the year but today the human staff that man the phone lines are most definately off work, and one is currently baking a huge sticky Chocolate Fudge Cake, if successful I may even post a pic later

I state the obvious because bizarrely we have picked up several telephone enquiries, now email we usually respond too regardless of the time of day, or day of the week sent, but I can confirm that the mobiles are off on this Jubilee weekend so will respond to those on Wednesday if you could be patient - thanks
